Late last night at the Danish national metal radio show (the 6th June), we announced more bands to the bill. This time we are very pleased to announce the to german bands Neaera and War From A Harlots Mouth, as well as Danish Boil.

Neaera plays brutal metalcore with inspirations from Swedish death metal. The bands latest and forth album “Omnicide – Creation Unleashed” was released last year through Metal Blade Records, an album that are still very relevant.

Their countrymen in War From A Harlots Mouth also plays brutal metal, but more over in the mathcore genre, which brings the listeners through both hardcore, grindcore, brutal rock, metal and even some jazz elements. The band will release their new split ep with Burning Skies on the 5th of juli, in the mean time the band are working hard on their next album, which we hope to get a sample of at the show.

Last the Copenhagen band Nembience was sadly forced to cancel their appearance, but in their place we are very happy to announce the alternative and melodic metal/hard rock band Boil from Århus. The band has recently released their second album “A New Decay” through Mighty Music.

Remember to buy your tickets in presales at www.billetbutik.dk for only 22.85 euro (170 danish kroner) + fee (Everyone that buys in presales gets a free beer for the afterparty at Rock Caféen). The price in the door is 33.60 euro.

9. may 2010 – 3 more bands at Day of Decay 2010

Day Of Decay are proud to announce that we have three new bands in the line-up.

First, the American thrash metal band FUELED BY FIRE, which released their last album “Spread The Fire” in 2007 through Metal Blade Records, now the band have a new album “Plunging Into Darkness” ready, but when and through which label are yet unknown. But we hope the band will play some new songs at Day Of Decay. With them on tour are the greek thrash/death metal band DRUNKARD, which are currently supporting their new album “Like Sin Explode”.

Third band on the bill is the Italien horror inspired deathcore/death metal act Stigma, which released their new album “Concerto For The Undead” at the end of April/start of may through the American label Pivotal Rockordings. The album is recorded with Bring Me The Horizon’s guitarist Jona Weinhofen at Fear Studio. On the album you can hear guest appearances by Jamie Hope (ex-The Red Shore) and Jon Hunt (Dead To Fall).

But we will let the experts talk for us, with a couple of quotes taken from members of God Forbid, Raised Fist and Whitechapel:

“This isn’t deathcore, metalcore or CORE anything. It’s ALL metal! Stigma are melodic and heavy while balancing it with the technical. This is the sound described as STIGMA! I hope they come to the States soon so I can support in person!” Dallas Coyle (ex-God Forbid)

“This album is fuckin amazing! It’s like a brutal assault on your soul while you´re beggin for mercy.” Marco Eronen (Raised Fist)

Stigma’s new release “Concerto for the Undead” is a ferocious delivery of melodic metalcore and swedish influenced death metal. Fans of As Blood Runs Black, The Black Dahlia Murder, and As I Lay Dying are sure to love the epic guitar riffs and technical while pummeling drum work of this record. This album is a breath of fresh air and creativity in the metal scene and I’m definitely interested to see where this release takes them!”Alex Wade (Whitechapel)

That’s all for this time, keep watching www.DayOfDecay.dk for more updates.

But this time we would instead like to announce more bands to the line-up.

First from the English metal scene, comes the highly relevant death metal act TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED. Trigger The Bloodshed are one of many from the rising metal scene in England, the band have made a name for them self’s in the UK as well as parts of Europe. But with their new and third album “Degenerate”, which are set to release the 24. May through Rising Records, we are sure they will be the next big death metal act in Europe.

The band has made a name for them self’s since they began in 2006, and has won the award “Talent Of The Year” at Danish metal awards in 2007 and have later delivered music to the animated cartoon “Sunshine Barry & the Disco Worms”.

Third band is the Copenhagen metal act Nembience, the band plays a solid potion of modern metal in the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder and so on. The band released their debut album “Through Times of Despair” the 15th February through the English label Casket Music.

Fourth band is the hardcore band Foot To Face, hailing from Odense, Denmark. The band are currently planning the release of their debut album “Fall Empire”, but is expected to be released this summer. The group singer has earlier been a part of the Danish hardcore sensation Last Mile, as their singer.

Last two bands this time, is two of the most prominent local demo bands, first is Hatred Conspiracy, the band have for some time been on a break, due to member changes, but is now back in form and working on their next release. Second is the local deathcore band All From Beside, which has turned out to be an audience magnet and an energy bomb when performing live. The band is currently working on their next release.

4th january 2010Day Of Decay 14th. august 2010

It is with great pleasure, that we can introduce you to Day of Decay.

Day of Decay is a new one-day arrangement/festival based in Aalborg, Denmark. We can now release the names of the first bands to play at the festival, planned support concerts as well as our new homepage that will be updated with the latest news on bands, location and what else the event has to offer.

Day of Decay will take place on August 14th in Aalborg, Denmark. Here you can experience 10-12 bands, both from the local area, from Denmark and from abroad. The 3 first bands to be announced are all from Denmark. They are the hardcore band Last Mile, the metal band Memorial and the local thrash band Essence. The two bands first mentioned have recently changed their line-up and are re-energized to kick some ass in Aalborg. This spring the young guys from Essence will record their debut album scheduled for release before Day of Decay.

Then we can present one of the best hardcore bands on German ground, Final Prayer, who can be described as a more raw and hardcore version of Hatebreed. With these 4 bands we already have nailed an exciting program that is different from what is common in the northern part of Jutland.

In addition to these four bands we will book four bands from the local area to make it possible for them to play with the established names from both Denmark and abroad. We also expect 3-4 additional foreign bands for the event.

As a warm-up to the big event of August 14th, we will hold 11 warm-up/support concerts at the three venues Baghuset, Rock Nielsen and Rock Caféen, all placed in Aalborg. Here we will focus on the local bands, as well as on a few from other Danish cities. All in all there are 25 bands from northern Jutland, mainly Aalborg, as well as 4 bands from Copenhagen, Odense and Århus.
Read more about the warm-up concerts in the Warm-Up section.

FINAL PRAYER (Germany)

FINAL PRAYER from Germany has since its formation in 2004, be a busy band, in their short existence they have released demos, two split cd’s and two albums. The group is currently working on their third album, which we hope to hear in Aalborg. The band has also been a very active name in the European hardcore-scene, where they have tour with Comeback Kid amongst others.

LAST MILE (Denmark)

Ever since LAST MILE was formed in 2007, the band has had a lot of attention, both because of the band members, but also because the band has been almost constantly active both on the live front as well as releasing records. Last summer the bands singer left the group, but with a new singer and renewed energy the band is ready to deliver a great hardcore show.

MEMORIAL (Denmark)

MEMORIAL have after the release of their debut album been inactive, this is the result of several changes in the bands line-up. But now, the band has a renewed energy and is working on their second album. With new material and great enthusiasm to get back on the stage, it will be a brand new edition of Memorial that we will experience at Day Of Decay.

ESSENCE (Denmark)

After an active 2009, ESSENCE is ready to enter Medley Studios in Copenhagen to record their first full-length album. With a fresh record, the band is ready to conquer the Danish and European metalheads. Beginning at Day Of Decay.
